Students learn more when they are in school every day. They learn from their teachers and they learn from their classmates. When they are not in school they miss instruction and they miss the opportunity to contribute to the learning process by sharing their thoughts and opinions. Regular school attendance gives students the tools they need to succeed.

That’s why Noblesville Schools has initiated its “Be Present” campaign to promote the district’s ACES (Attending Class Equals Success) attendance program. ACES targets students with excessive absences and attempts to keep those students in class and maximize their learning opportunities.
Mark Booth, director of Student Services, said the school district hopes to raise Noblesville's rate above the other three districts. For the past several years, the majority of Noblesville's schools have missed being named a Four Star School by the State of Indiana because the attendance rates did not fall within the top 25 percent of schools in Indiana.
The important thing, Mr. Booth said, is that children learn more when they are in school.
The ACES attendance program is presented in partnership with the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office.

ACES Mission Statement
Classroom attendance, even when no grades are assigned for the day’s activities, provides valuable learning through lecture, discussion, group activities, and student interaction. When students are absent, they deprive their classmates of their contributions to the learning process, and they derive no benefits themselves from the classroom discussions and interactions among teachers and fellow students. The primary goal of the Noblesville Schools’ BE PRESENT attendance mission is to encourage maximum student attendance so that students have every available opportunity to succeed.
